Written by Opportunity Sheffield, Sheffield City Council
Opportunity Sheffield, the employment and skills service in Sheffield City Council, wishes to inform you of its plans for the remainder of the 2019-21 ESF Pathways project, which is part-funded by the European Social Fund. This project incorporates the Ambition – Pathways to Progression (P2P) and Pathways to Success (P2S) programmes.
The Department for Work & Pensions has granted a time-only extension to both programmes, allowing existing underspend from Ambition (P2P) and P2S to be utilised for a continuation of activity until March 31st 2022. To this end, we will be commissioning a series of six-month projects on Ambition (P2P) and four-month projects on P2S.
The Council has submitted bids for extensions to both projects for the period April 2022 to December 2023 but cannot provide any further update at this point.
Ambition (P2P) tender – Oct 2021 to March 2022
The Council has £210,000 available to fund targeted employment support projects in Sheffield between October 2021 and March 2022.
We will be issuing an open tender via ProContract / YORtender for two weeks from w/c August 2nd. Briefing sessions will be arranged for prospective bidders.
The Council is inviting bids for projects that support unemployed or economically inactive people to move closer to the labour market, including into education, training or work. We are seeking bids for projects that will support people from a range of groups: Care Leavers, Homeless, Ex-offenders, Lone Parents, BAMER, Disengaged 18-24s, Disabilities and Socially/Economically Excluded.
Organisations will bid on a project basis, telling us what your organisation can deliver, how you will achieve the target Outputs and Results, who will deliver them and how much the project will cost.
- Delivery must commence on October 1st 2021
- No sub-contracting arrangements are permitted
- Bids will be capped at £25,000 per six-month Ambition (P2P) project
- Each bid must focus on one target group – they cannot target more than one demographic (i.e. no half and half bids)
- Providers may bid for more than one target group, but each target group requires a separate bid
- The Council will commission no more than three projects relating to a single target group
Upcoming Pathways to Success tender – December 2021 to March 2022
A round of commissioning on P2S will follow in the autumn once Ambition (P2P) contracts have been awarded. The amount of funding available for P2S projects is still to be confirmed. We will be seeking general & health-related employment support projects.
If you have any questions relating to any of the above, please attend a briefing session on the upcoming Ambition (P2P) tender, as advertised on ProContract / YORtender.
