LandAid’s Routes Out of Homelessness Programme

LandAid awards grants to exceptional small-medium sized charities working with young people who are at risk of becoming homeless, are currently homeless, or have experienced homelessness in the past.

The Routes out of Homelessness grants programme aims to create new bedspaces for young people (16-25 years).

Registered charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) or other not-for-profit organisations can apply.

There is a two-stage application process.

Expressions of Interest will be accepted from 8th January, 2024.

Army Benevolent Fund Invites Applications from Charities Supporting the Army Community

The Army Benevolent Fund provides grants to charities and organisations that provide lifetime support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families when they are in need.

The funding is intended to support charities and organisations that directly benefit the Army community in six key areas: supporting the family; employment, education and training; elderly care; mobility; housing; and wellbeing.

Applications will be accepted from not-for-profit organisations, Community Interest Companies, Community Projects and Housing Associations

The next deadline for applications is 11th January, 2024.

Vision Foundation Accepting Applications for National Resilience Fund

Vision Foundation is offering grants of up to £30,000 for registered charities, community interest companies, charitable incorporated organisations etc that provide support and services for blind and partially sighted people, for projects and activities designed to reduce levels of isolation and loneliness. 

Priority will be given to organisations that demonstrate a strong commitment to involving experts and people with experience, such as blind and partially sighted people or people at risk of sight loss, in their work.

The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on 22nd January, 2024.

National Archives Engagement Grants

Engagement Grants are open to archivists and heritage professionals working with archival collections. 

Public sector bodies, not-for-profit organisations including registered charities, and for-profit organisations including business archives can apply now for grants of up to £5,000.

The National Archives offers Engagement Grants to enable organisations to connect archives with their communities and the wider public in alignment with key moments of national significance. There will be a different theme each year.

This year, the grants will be themed around the concept of “place.” 

The deadline for applications is 26th January, 2024.

Forestry Commission Launches £2.5m Tree Production Capital Grant

The Tree Production Capital Grant provides funding to help tree nurseries and suppliers invest in projects which improve, expand, automate or mechanise their operations.

The scheme is looking to support projects with outputs that will better equip nurseries to supply the trees required for new woodlands and urban planting projects.

Up to £2.5 million of funding is available for the 2024-2025 financial year only.

The grant is open to tree seed and sapling suppliers of all sizes, as well as new entrants looking to diversify into the sector.

The deadline for applications is 11.55pm on 30th January, 2024.

GambleAware Launches New Fund to Improve Outcomes for Women and Minority Communities

GambleAware has opened a new £4.3 million funding programme to tackle additional burdens of gambling harm experienced by women and people from minority religious and ethnic communities.

Registered charities and not for profit organisations can apply for a portion of the £4.3 million funding pot with grants of:

  • £150,000 for up to two years for smaller/ emergent organisations.
  • £300,000 for up to two years for larger organisations or more established projects.

There will be a Fund Q&A on 9th January, 2024 (16:00 to 17:00). Registration is required.

Applications will be accepted until 5pm on 31st January, 2024.

Grants for Digital Projects Tackling Problems in Vocational Learning

The VocTech Activate scheme supports the development of new ideas that use digital tools and approaches to transform how people in the UK gain skills for work.

The design, development and early stage testing of novel approaches to digital vocational learning will be funded.

Individual grants of between £30,000 and £60,000 will be awarded for projects lasting up to 12 months.

Applications are invited from UK-based early-stage businesses, smaller digital innovators and other organisations looking to test new digital approaches on a small scale. Charities, trade bodies, existing learning providers, and employers who would like to test new approaches to using digital technology for vocational learning, may also apply.

The deadline for applications is 31st January, 2024.

7 Stars Foundation Accepting Applications for First 2024 Funding Round

7Stars Foundation is offering grants of up to £2,500 for registered charities to deliver projects and activities that support young people aged 16 years and under across the priority themes of abuse, addiction, child carers, and homelessness.

The trustees typically meet four times a year to review grant applications.

The next deadline for applications is 31st January, 2024.

Funding for Projects that Promote Fine Arts and Music

Golsonscott Foundation is offering grants typically up to £3,000 for voluntary and community sector organisations to deliver projects and activities that demonstrate and deliver excellence in the arts, whether in performance, exhibition, artistic craft, or scholarly endeavour.

Priority is given to the applications from arts organisations whose main objective is the perfection of the art form itself, or performance excellence.

The next deadline is 10th February, 2024.

Forestry Commission Offers More Grants to Boost Domestic Tree Seed Production

Seed sourcing is seen as an essential part of tree production and one that can sometimes be overlooked. A secure, diverse supply of tree seed is key to creating healthy, resilient woodlands.

The Seed Sourcing Grant (SSG) aims to support the sector in increasing the quantity, quality, and diversity of Seed Stands and Seed Orchards and boost domestic tree seed production..

Up to £260,000 of funding is available for the 2024-2025 financial year only.

The deadline for applications 11.55pm on 13th February, 2024.

Brownfield Land Release Fund Opens Third and Final Round

Since 2017, One Public Estate (OPE) has partnered with DLUHC to deliver the Land Release Fund (LRF) and subsequent Brownfield Land Release Fund (BLRF), a programme that enables councils to bring forward their surplus land for new homes. 

The BLRF is offering up to £180 million of capital grant funding to unlock and accelerate the release of these sites.

The aims of the Brownfield Land Release Fund are to:

  • Release local authority owned land within three years of receiving the funding for housing development that otherwise would not come forward during that period
  • Encourage the use of public assets to drive innovative delivery, where possible supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) / Low and Medium Volume Builders (LMVBs), creating new delivery models, supporting high-quality design and adopting modern methods of construction
  • Demonstrate a return for Government investment into these small sites.

Up to £80 million will be available in 2024/25 through this third and final round.

All local authorities across England are eligible to apply. Applications must be coordinated via an OPE partnership.

The deadline for applications is 11.59pm on 14th February, 2024.

Brownfield Land Release Fund Details


Ormiston Trust Launches New Round of YSA Funding for Schools

The Ormiston Trust is now opening a new grant round for schools and academies to embed high-quality Youth Social Action (YSA) at scale.

The funding is for schools in England to engage students at scale in delivery of a five-step youth social action model: Inspire, Explore, Plan, Act and Reflect.

Mainstream secondary and primary schools or academies may apply for grants of up to £5,000 to scale up or start up YSA in educational settings.

The Trust will hold an online information session on 15th January, 2024 (16:30 to 17:30) and 1st February, 2024 (12:30 to 13:30).

The grant application window closes on 22nd February, 2024.

Business Grants up to £170,000 for Low Carbon Propulsion Technologies 

The Technology Developer Accelerator Programme has been created to support companies developing innovative low-carbon propulsion technologies that can be applied to the automotive industry.

Those who have a product or technology with the potential to reduce the environmental impact of the transport sector could be eligible for up to £170,000 of combined grant funding, technical support and business mentoring.

The programme is open to micro, small and medium-sized technology developers, start-ups and university spinouts in the UK.

Expressions of Interest and Full Applications for Wave 8 are open until 12pm on 27th February, 2024.

The Technology Developer Accelerator Programme Details


Environmental Monitoring Innovation Competition

The aim of this Innovate UK (IUK) competition is to fund collaborative projects that develop environmental monitoring solutions to enable improved monitoring of environmental variables.

Projects must focus on one or more of the following challenge areas:

  • Biodiversity and natural capital.
  • Soil health (including measuring soil carbon).
  • Water quality.
  • Greenhouse gas (GHG) and ammonia emissions from Defra sectors.

Up to £5 million has been allocated to fund industrial research projects.

The competition is open to collaborations only. UK registered businesses of any size must lead a project, collaborating with other UK registered organisations.

Applications can be made from 22nd January, 2024 until the closing date for applications at 11am on 6th March, 2024.

Environmental Monitoring Innovation Competition Details


Innovate UK Announces Creative Catalyst 2024 Competition

Administered by Innovate UK (IUK), the Creative Catalyst supports the growth of untapped innovative businesses, increasing investment in creative talent across the UK. IUK does this by providing a package of targeted and continuous support to develop projects that will propel business growth plans.

Up to £10 million has been allocated to fund innovation projects in this competition. Each project’s total costs and grant funding request must be up to a maximum of £50,000.

This competition is open to single applicants only. UK registered micro or small businesses, from or supporting the creative industries sector, may apply.

Applications are accepted between 23rd January, 2024 and 6th March, 2024 (11am).

Creative Catalyst 2024 Details


Sport England Offers Funding for Flood-Damaged Facilities

Sport England has extended its Small Grants programme to not-for-profit organisations who have been impacted by the October/November 2023 storms and flooding and are seeking storm relief funding.

Through the Small Grants programme, grants of between £300 and £15,000 can support emergency costs to help restore sports facilities and activity venues that have been affected by the recent storms.

Applications are currently being accepted until 31st March, 2024.

Government’s VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme Opens for Applications

Voluntary, community and social enterprise VCSE organisations can apply now to the new £25.5 million VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme for support in improving the energy efficiency of their building.

There are two elements:

  • Eligible organisations can apply now for the cost and delivery of an independent energy assessment (IEA).
  • Organisations with an energy assessment may then be eligible to apply for a capital grant of between £2,000 and £150,000 to install the recommended energy efficiency measures in their premises.

There will be three capital grant rounds with applications opening in early January 2024, mid April 2024 and early July 2024.

Applications are currently being accepted for an Independent Energy Assessment.

VCSE Energy Efficiency Scheme Details


Windrush Justice Programme Invites Applications for Round 3

Not-for-profit organisations based in the UK who provide advocacy support to those wishing to access the Windrush Compensation Scheme,  can apply for grants of £22,000 over two years.

The funding can be used to pay for case workers, cover administrative costs, venue costs, run awareness raising events, and staffing costs.

UK based organisations may apply, including:

  • Registered Charities
  • Community Interest Companies (CIC).
  • Company limited by guarantee.
  • Constituted voluntary organisations.
  • Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIO).

Round 3 is currently open for applications. There is no deadline as this is a rolling round.

Windrush Justice Programme Round 3 Details


New Charity Offers Grants to Support People in Fuel and Food Poverty

Utilita Giving is offering grants to charities and other not-for-profit organisations that are supporting people in fuel and food poverty.

The funding can be used for a number of different things that support people in fuel and food poverty.

Examples include: 

  • A new van or transport for foodbanks charities to collect and redistribute food.
  • Additional paid staff to support a fuel poverty advice phoneline.
  • Additional money to feed disadvantaged families in a warm and welcome space.

Applications can be made at any time with a response within 14 working days.
