The new look Empower course is being launched in August 2024!
Empower was launched in November 2021 and has been delivered to over 1,000 learners, with 77% progressing into a positive destination.
The course has been adapted, so the focus is more toward employment, while still retaining focus on well-being and supporting those with complex barriers.
The training provider has introduced the below new roles to support learners:
- Specialised key workers who will provide tailored intervention to increase employability
- Destination coaches to identify potential opportunities and support our learners to access these
- Learners will be supported for eight weeks and must complete a minimum of 101 guided learning hours, with the intention of progressing into a positive destination and sustaining the position.
The course is now offered to learners aged 19+ and will cover Sheffield, as well as Doncaster, Rotherham and Barnsley.

Eligibility is as follows:
- Must be 19 or older on 31.08.24
- Must live in Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster or Sheffield
- Must be unemployed and claiming benefits or –
- Earning less than £617 a month (learner is sole adult in their benefit claim) or £988 a month (learner has a joint benefit claim with their partner) and wanting to find more secure or sustainable employment.
