
Netcom Training have secured new funding for the South Yorkshire area and are inviting eligible participants to their next IT Support Essentials course. Two start days are available – more details below.
Starting:
16 June 2025, pm/evening course
14 July 2025, am/day course
Certificate Type: Netcom Certificate of Completion
Course Duration: 17 weeks. The day course (July 14) may have longer days to bring down the duration.
Assessment: End of unit and end of course exams – 70% pass mark, multiple choice questions.

Key Course Information: The last 2 weeks of the course will be a mandatory employability programme.
What participants learn on the course:
| • Begins with basic hardware and software components of computer systems. • Explores wireless systems, test equipment, server roles, firewalls, access control, and encryption techniques. • Includes network maintenance tools, local storage management, and performance monitoring methods. • Mobile device management: Configures hardware, optimises operating systems, enhances security, and provides remote assistance. • Cloud computing modules: Covers cloud types, deployment models, virtual machines, cloud-based applications, backup policies, disaster recovery, risk assessments, and service level agreements. • Business IT components: Includes HRIS, CRM, ERP systems, IT security principles (CIA Triad, AUP), capacity planning, asset management, IT legislation, software lifecycles, and document management processes. |
Eligibility: Candidates need to be over 19 to be eligible for the funding and earn under £23,400.
