For the second year running, Building Our Skills is working in partnership with The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in South Yorkshire to bring its 50 Careers in One Day event to the area.
This years event is going to be bigger and even better than last year, with Construction as well as Glazing being a feature for those attending. Schools and parents with children are encouraged to attend to find out more about the wide range of building careers on offer.
Take a look around the skyline, listen to the news – developing the built environment is a key part of local, as well as national strategies. There are cranes everywhere, building new and exciting commercial and housing developments.
Construction is one of the biggest industries contributing 6% to the UK economy and employing over 2 million people, with opportunities for everyone.
At this years event Building Our Skills will be showcasing 20 Career Families as well as 50 individual careers (all within the Fenestration and Construction sectors).
There will be employability skills clinics, interactive displays, and pop up mini theatres for people to interact with employers and ask questions.
