Arundel Lane Studios offers free music course to young people in care

Arundel Lane Studios delivers fully funded, hands-on creative programmes for young people who are in care, have been in care, or have received social services support.

These sessions aren’t one-off taster days — they’re structured, industry-standard training designed to build genuine skills, open career pathways, and boost confidence.

Here’s what’s on offer:

  • DJ Training as a Trade – From learning the craft to performing live and creating opportunities to earn from their skills.
  • Music Production – Creating tracks from scratch to a release-ready standard using professional gear and software.
  • Ofqual-Accredited Qualifications – Recognised certifications to strengthen college, employment, or self-employment opportunities.
  • Mentoring & Well-being Support – Led by myself, Jamie Ferguson, a care leaver who became an internationally recognised DJ.
  • Community & Confidence Building – A safe, inspiring space to connect, learn, and grow alongside peers.

This course is free for eligible young people, thanks to funding and partnerships. If you would like to refer a young person, complete the form below and send it to: onapositive@sheffield.gov.uk
