Firvale Community Hub launches Sheffield Apprenticeship Connector Programme

Firvale Community Hub has launched Sheffield’s new Apprenticeship Connector Programme, funded by the Youth Futures Foundation through its national Connected Futures programme.

This pioneering initiative aims to address one of Sheffield’s most persistent inequalities, the under-representation of Pakistani and Bangladeshi young people in apprenticeships.

National research by the Youth Futures Foundation shows that these communities are significantly underrepresented across the UK — and that the challenge is even more pronounced for young women.

Firvale Community Hub is proud to be working in collaboration with three nationally recognised organisations:

  • Youth Futures Foundation – a mission-driven organisation working to break down barriers to employment for young people across the UK.
  • Social Finance – a non-profit that partners with communities and policymakers to design better public services and drive long-term change.
  • Action for Race Equality – a national charity tackling racial inequality and improving outcomes for Black, Asian, and minority ethnic communities, with a focus on education, employment, and justice.
