Youth Employment & Skills (YES) course starts in November

The next Youth Employment & Skills (YES) course, aimed at young people aged 16-24, starts Monday 10 November 2025.

YES is run by Opportunity Sheffield and is designed to prepare learners for work by offering support and guidance to help them move toward their dream careers. The focus is on progressing participants into:

  • Employment
  • Apprenticeships
  • Job-focused learning

Support Provided to Each Learner:

  • Career advice tailored to personal goals
  • CV building for specific job roles
  • Application form guidance
  • Interview training and mock interviews
  • Micro-teach project (learners design and deliver a session)
  • Structured job search with employer engagement support
  • Soft skills training (digital safety, budgeting, confidence, communication)
  • Employer roadshow/job fair (exclusive to course learners and alumni)
  • Integrated e-learning with industry-specific training and certification

Training Details:

  • Location: Moorfoot, Learning and Development Centre, Level 1, Sheffield, S1 4PL
  • Duration: Three weeks, Monday to Friday

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age: 16–24
  • Not in work or full-time education
  • Resident of South Yorkshire
  • Must attend every day of the course

An information sessions is run at Moorfoot the week before the start date to check eligibility and register participants.
