The Oratory Studio is taking referrals for its next set of workshops, taking place in November, December and January.
The a twice-monthly workshops are a chance for people from all walks of life to boost their communication skills, in a safe, friendly and practical environment.
There are up to five spaces on each workshop available free for anyone seeking employment, or returning to work after a break. Plus, each person can attend for up to six sessions – with no strings.
This offer can be utilised alongside any Pathways to Work scheme, again with no cost and no obligation.
John Joseph Bradley, the owner and facilitator of the workshop, explains:
“Developing people’s confidence in how to express themselves clearly, and with presence, is key to building a positive future. Many people find it daunting to speak up in a room full of people, or when trying to keep calm and composed in a job interview.
“The OS here to help with that – and is founded on a very simple approach. That speaking and listening practice, in the right environment, with realistic goal setting, will lead to successful outcomes for everyone.
“There are no workbooks, no complicated theories to learn. We focus on responding to questions or scenarios, on building an effective message, and on giving and receiving feedback, Everyone participates at their own pace, has fun with it, and develops their own, authentic voice along the way.”
The dates for the next set of workshops are:
- 18 November 2025
- 4 December 2025
- 16 December 2025
- 8 January 2026
- 22 January 2026
The workshops take place at Sheffield Hallam University on Charles Street, 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
