Sheffield Cares is launching JobLink to help match people to jobs in adult social care. It introduces an online pre-screening process to make recruitment more efficient for providers and clearer for applicants.
It is part of the offer from Sheffield Care Academy, Sheffield Cares our one stop shop for workforce development in Adult Social Care .
It aims to retain, recruit, and develop a strong social care workforce that delivers outstanding care for the people of Sheffield: Home | Care Academy.
Need for the pilot
Adult social care providers face high vacancy rates and increasing demand.
This pilot aims to support employers by matching people interested in care with suitable vacancies.
For people applying for jobs in care, the aim is to create a clear route to employment or support to get job-ready.
How it will work
- Adult Social Care providers in the pilot will send Job Link a list of their job vacancies.
- People looking for social care work will fill in a short form on Sheffield Cares Job Link.
- The pilot has three key steps:
- Basic details
Applicants provide brief personal information. If they need extra support they’ll be referred to relevant services. - Values check
Applicants complete the Curious About Care quiz – a research-informed tool designed to support values-based recruitment. Learn more about the quiz Curious about Care – Recruiting a person-centred workforce - Follow-up and matching
The team contacts applicants to confirm experience and availability. Suitable candidates are matched to job vacancies and their details shared with employers.
The pilot will run to March 2026.
