As part of the Health and Growth Accelerator Scheme funded by South Yorkshire Community Foundation, RiteTrax are pleased to offer Creative Pathways, a programme of music provision for young people aged 16-24.
They must also meet the following criteria:
• are in education, but have had periods of absence (e.g. missing 5–15% of school days)
• are in employment, but have had periods of absence (e.g. three or more fit notes per year)
• are struggling to enter the workplace (e.g. been actively looking for a job for 4 months or longer)
The above maybe due to a mild to moderate depression, anxiety or due to being neurodivergent
Taster/drop-in sessions
We are hosting two open taster/drop-in sessions for young people and any support staff to attend to find out more information about the programme and get a feel for our space and way of working. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
This will take place on:
Tuesday 10 February at 6pm – 8pm from our premises in Castlegate, Plot 22. The full address is Plot 22, 20-22 Exchange Street, Sheffield, S2 5TS.
The programme
The programme itself will take place on weekly Tuesdays, starting from Tuesday 17 February, and running every week until Tuesday 17 March.
The young people will be supported to create their own original music either individually or as part of a group, learning skills in music making, songwriting, production, DJing and event planning.
The programme culminates in a public showcase event taking place on Thursday 19 March. All sessions will take place at Plot 22.
1-to-1 support
There is also a limited amount of 1-to-1 support that is on offer as part of this programme which is available subject to capacity and need, whereby participants can receive further provision to develop their skills. This can be discussed further with a support worker following attendance and engagement in the programme.
