Seeking interview participants: University of Sheffield project on the history of work and rights

A research team at the University of Sheffield is looking for volunteers to take part in an interview about rights related to work.

The project ‘Global Socio Economic Rights, Local Contexts (GLOSOC)’ explores how people in Britain, Germany, and East Africa have thought about work-related rights, now and in the past.

They aim to conduct a series of interviews with members of the public. They are interested in your opinions about the rights which workers and people who cannot find work should have, and what can be done to help people find and maintain good-quality work.

Your interview (which will be assigned a different name to your real name) will be uploaded to two secure, open-access academic databases, where it will provide future researchers with a historical record of people’s opinions about working rights.

They may also include short extracts from your interview in an online exhibition about the history of rights related to work, and we may use findings from your interview responses in our academic publications.

The interview will last for roughly 30 to 45 minutes. To compensate you for your time, we will provide you with a £20 Amazon voucher.

If you are interested in taking part in an interview, please email: glosoc@sheffield.ac.uk

This project has been approved via the University of Sheffield’s Ethics Review Procedure, as administered by the School of History, Philosophy and Digital Humanities.
