DFN Project SEARCH is running a Supported Internship Selection event at Gulliver’s Valley on Monday 18 May 2026.
DFN Project SEARCH is a national charity that enables young adults who have a learning disability or autism spectrum condition to secure meaningful permanent employment.
The internship is a fantastic step for post-16 students with SEND and an EHCP who are looking to progress towards paid employment at the end of the course. On the course, interns receive the support of a Work Based Tutor, Job Coach and Mentors, as well as job role rotations and classroom learning which focuses on employability skills.
They are looking for interns that will benefit from the course and are keen to transition to paid employment- some of our graduates have secured paid work with Gulliver’s in the past.
The majority of their interns are aged 23 to 24. A supported internship is usually a learner’s last year at college, so they typically attract learners at the end of their EHCPs. However, they have had younger interns that do very well on a supported internship programme.
Further details will be confirmed the week prior to the event, including what learners will need to bring with them. The event is likely to run until 1pm. Parents may attend the event, but it is advised they do not sit in during selection tasks. Each learner will have an interview and be assessed on their ability to complete several work-related skills.
Please note: this is a selection event for Gulliver’s (Project SEARCH) only and not the other Sheffield College Supported Internships based at Hillsborough, Peaks or Aviva.
