Walking for Purpose is teaming up with Aspiring Communities Together to deliver a programme of light exercise and employability training in Firvale.
Gentle walks will take place on Wednesdays 11am-1pm, followed by confidence-building sessions, and on Fridays 11am-1pm, followed by a gum class.
Each walk last approximately one hour, starting and ending at ACT Firvale Centre on Earl Marshal Road, S4 8LB.
“This is a great opportunity for all learners, especially for those looking for work, socially excluded, struggling with their health and wellbeing,” says Usha Blackham, Firvale Area Coordinator/ Learning Champion.
“In our last group we had a lady travelling from S7 she found her way around, met few women made friends much happier in herself! now volunteering and applying for jobs.”
Learners who register and attend the Walking for Purpose sessions receive a daily travel pass to get to and from the walk.
