‘Apprenticeships: Be Inspired’ event connects employers with future apprentices

On Wednesday 13th March, over 1,000 School and Sixth Form students will descend on Cutlers’ Hall, CVs at the ready, for the annual ‘Apprenticeships: Be Inspired’ apprenticeship fair. Organised by Opportunity Sheffield, the employment and skills service within Sheffield City Council, the event gives young people aged 16-18 the chance to meet employers, learn more about the apprenticeship route and apply for upcoming roles.

With over 80 employers from a broad range of sectors in attendance, each of whom is eager to showcase their organisations and discover the next generation of talent, the event helps create genuine roles and kick-start real careers. Last year, 182 students secured an apprenticeship as a direct result of attending Apprenticeships: Be Inspired, highlighting its importance in terms of bringing employers and candidates together.

Here at Opportunity Sheffield, we are proud to help young people take their first steps on the careers ladder, whether through apprenticeships, traineeships, work experience or jobs. Our aim is to boost young people’s employability skills and help them find workplace opportunities, while connecting employers with the people who can help their organisations grow and develop for the long term.

If your organisation is coming to Apprenticeships: Be Inspired 2019, we’ll look forward to seeing you on the Wednesday 13th March.
