Red Tape/s short courses are ideal for those looking to gig, record, DJ or join the training provider’s study programme.

Studio Recording

Our flagship Studio 1 hosts this practical evening class, which allows you to get hands-on with microphones, mixing desks, multi-tracking and more. Learn how to create a professional, broadcast-quality track using the latest software.

Suitable for:  All abilities – from beginners to would-be sound engineers

Course:  A 4-hour evening session each week for 22 weeks

DJ Skills

Suitable for:  All abilities – from beginners to working DJs

Develop the DJ/production skills required to succeed in the dance music industry, including digital mixing, cueing, beat matching, and EQing. In our small-class teaching environment, create your own professional mix demo.

Course:  One 6-hour daytime session per week for 13 weeks – various start dates

Digital Audio Workstation Production

This project-based DAW production course shows you how to compose and arrange music on industry-standard software. Develop skills in sequencing, digital mixing, audio sampling and MIDI in our state-of-the-art training studios.

Suitable for:  All abilities, including beginners. An ideal access course for the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Music Technology

Course:  Two days per week for 11 weeks – various start dates
