Zest Centre Reopening – Update

Written by Matt Dean, Chief Executive, Zest

We are pleased to announce that with effect from Monday 7th September we will be commencing Phase 1 re-opening of our swimming pool, beginning with a swimming lessons programme only. We are in the process of contacting everyone who was enrolled in swimming lessons prior to the lockdown to communicate the revised timetable and re-scheduling of lessons. Once all existing clients have been accommodated we will turn our attention to the waiting list.

We are still working on plans to safely re-introduce some public swimming and gym sessions and will make an announcement regarding this in early September.
Phase 2 plans are currently centred on the re-introduction of a public swim offer that would be pre booked and pay as you go only, but with the opportunity to purchase in blocks. Gym plans are currently centred on pre-booked sessions, based on a limited number of memberships and pay as you go access. We would be aiming to move to Phase 2 by the end of September.

It is likely that all current swim memberships will be cancelled, with the hope that we can reintroduce memberships in the future, when social distancing rules are relaxed and we can provide an improved public swim offer. A decision has not been made on this yet as we are still establishing the potential for any additional grant funding support which may allow us to retain a membership offer.

We understand that a number of our customers will be frustrated at this limited re-opening of the Zest Centre, but it essential we get the offer right in order to support and protect the long term future of the Centre.

We would like to thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Matt Dean
