Opportunity Sheffield – the employment and skills service in Sheffield City Council – is currently recruiting for its next Pre-Apprenticeship and Traineeship programmes, which will recommence in the new year.
The Pre-Apprenticeship programme – an 8-week course designed to provide candidates with the entry-level skills and understanding of the workplace they need to succeed at interview for an apprenticeship- will begin on Tuesday 12 January.
The Council’s next Traineeship intake – an in-depth offer for candidates who are NEET / further away from the labour market – will start on Monday 11 January, with potential progression routes into apprenticeships in sectors key to the local economy.
The initial January traineeship will be geared towards candidates who have expressed a particular interest in learning construction trade skills.
Both programmes are intended to be delivered via a blended learning model, with both online and face-to-face sessions.
