Opportunity Sheffield: Covid service update

A quick service update from Opportunity Sheffield.

With England moving back into lockdown as of Tuesday 5th January, the Council’s employment and skills service, and funded delivery partners, are suspending face-to-face delivery.

Whilst this is not ideal, the majority of our programmes and services will continue to operate remotely via video conferencing, telephone and email.

Employment programmes / ESF Pathways

Opportunity Sheffield and its delivery partners will still be inviting – and actively seeking – referrals to the ESF Pathways employment support programme during the new lockdown. Keyworkers will be working remotely using telephone and web conferencing to deliver 1-2-1 and group sessions. Behavioural change courses will operate on a case-by-case basis; those that be delivered online will continue.


All face-to-face education delivery will cease for the time being, with the only exception being endpoint assessments for apprentices who are in the process of completing. Apprentices who are currently employed can continue to work at the discretion of their employers but they will not receive face-to-face tutoring.
