An exciting three-week work experience opportunity in the Civil Service is being offered to young people with autism, aged between 18 and 25 who have achieved a minimum of 2 GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and maths at Grade A*-C (or 4-9) or above.
The programme will provide you with the chance to experience the Civil Service first-hand, gaining insight into the workplace. As part of the experience, you will also be able to participate in developmental coaching sessions and other activities.
The Civil Service has a key role in supporting government to develop and implement its policies as effectively as possible, helping to bring innovative solutions to some of the biggest issues facing society. Through the programme you will find out what it is like to work inside this important organisation. Please apply if this area of work interests you.
The programme is likely to be based in London (if face to face) or online (if working from home), you will be asked your availability for either location in your application form. Remuneration will be paid at £300 or £350 per week (depending on location, before tax). Travel and lunch will not be reimbursed.

After applying you will be invited to meet with the Ambitious about Autism team to discuss your application, suitable applications are anonymised and shared with the Civil Service who match applications with appropriate internship roles available.
If you are successful in being chosen to take part in the internship you will need to undertake security checks which will require, as a minimum, a current passport, DBS check and proof of your whereabouts (where you have lived) over the past 3 years. Ambitious about Autism will be available to assist you with completing these checks, identify any workplace adjustments you may want to request and provide support throughout the internship.
If you are not chosen to take part in the internship Ambitious about Autism will be available to support you in the form of Information, advice and guidance.
