My name is Nicola and I work for CTS Training as a Learning Mentor for our 16-19 Study Programme. Our team has recently expanded with our team. Summer joined CTS in December 2020 as a Learning Mentor and is currently learning the role and what life is like at CTS. We also have Alix who has rejoined CTS in a new role as a Learning Mentor taking a lead on delivering Enrichment and W.
Please see enclosed a brief description of who CTS is and what we have to offer.
The 16-19 study programme has been a huge success over the years, helping over 900+ 16-19 aged learners across Sheffield region. As a Learning Mentor we support not only with their academic requirements but also any personal and social barriers that they may have in place.
As part of our 16-19 Study Programme we are currently offering the following courses:
- GCSE English Language
- GCSE mathematics
- Functional Skills English and maths across entry 1- level 2
- ESOL Skills for Life Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening across entry 1-entry 3
- Award in Employability entry 3 and level 2
- Work related activities and Enrichment
We understand with the current pandemic that Schools and Colleges are currently closed, however as a further education provider we are able to remain open as per guidance we have received from the government. Students are given an option to work either in centre or remotely at home. A typical study programme lasts up to 24 weeks and is a great opportunity for young adults to become engaged in learning with a view to moving onto college, apprenticeship or work.
Learners can also qualify for a bursary payment which can be used to support with travel. Attached is some more information regarding where we are and what have to offer.
