Make a difference! Volunteer to be a trustee of SAVTE!
We are a Sheffield based charity with a long history of engaging with volunteers to provide
English language support to those people most excluded from mainstream provision. We
particularly aim to recruit volunteer language supporters from within our learners’
communities to help foster new relationships, neighbourhood resilience and community

development approach so that our work supports communities as well as individuals. Our
provision is unique, our reputation is growing locally and nationally, and we have ambitious
plans for further transformation and diversification to ensure our sustainability well beyond

so are keen to hear from less represented groups. We welcome applications from those
with lived experience of the issues of under represented communities, people with a
multilingual background and those who have been ESOL (English for Speakers of Other
We are currently looking particularly for people with experience of managing finances and
those who have experience of managing people but above all we are looking for people
with a willingness to contribute their energy and their experience.
This is a rewarding and stimulating role which will require a time commitment of around
seven meetings a year plus time to support specific initiatives which interest you. The role
is unremunerated, although reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
