From 8 – 12 November The Source is running its second Steps to Your Career.
The first one we ran over summer was a huge success and we supported all young people who attended, into positive outcomes.
The idea is to help those who may be unsure of what to do next, maybe they have tried 6th form or college and it isn’t for them. Maybe they have been out of education for a while and unsure of where to start.
- Participate in fun and engaging activities to boost employability skills
- Organise and market a fundraising project so that they have some employability experience for their CV and also to talk about in interviews.
- Gain a level 1 Award in Workskills to add to their CV. This looks at achieving success at interview, self-assessment, selfmanagement skills, employability skills, rights and responsibilities in the workplace & preparing for interview.
- Receive full support in choosing the right next steps for them, from our experienced and qualified team.
Ultimately, we want them to have fun, meet new people and build confidence.
The next Traineeship cohort will also start in November. Again, due to the success of our Traineeship Programme, we have been allocated additional funding to support even more 16-18 year olds.
