We have an exciting opportunity for experienced and self-motivated Project Coaches to join Sheffield Futures to support clients on the Doing Good Business Project which aims to support them into education, training, employment or self employment. We have an opportunity for 1.5 FTE for this work which could be made up of one full time post and one 0.5 FTE post, however other part time hour combinations would be considered.
The Doing Good Business programme received grant funding from The National Lottery Community Fund and the European Social Fund as part of the 2014-2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme in England. The Department for Work and Pensions is the Managing Authority for the England European Social Fund programme. Established by the European Union, the European Social Fund helps local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support skills development, employment and job creation, social inclusion and local community regenerations. Our key programme aim is to work with economically inactive or unemployed participants from the Sheffield City Region to instil confidence and develop entrepreneurial skills so that they are better equipped to enter the job market and explore options for self-employment. From this cohort, we are planning to deliver positive outputs including: participants progressing to work or the creation of a business (or self-employment opportunity) or progressing to a training /education.
The Project Coaches will enable effective participant engagement through the direct delivery of or signposting to specialist and personalised interventions including mental health and wellbeing and employability and training by:
- Engaging and maintaining contact with eligible programme participants, offering personalised support through appropriate methods (eg, group work, telephone, face to face and digital, including use of social media)
- Tracking , supporting and bridge participants into employment or alternative outcomes
- Provide in-work and/or in-learning support if appropriate
- Engage with participants, employers, education and training providers to ensure that outcomes are collected, evidenced and recorded to meet the specified participant targets defined by the programme
The successful candidate will be Qualified to Level 3 or above in Information, Advice and Guidance, Youth Work, Health and Social care, or other related discipline. You will also have experience of engaging and working with clients providing empowering support, and an understanding of issues affecting unemployed and economically inactive people. You will be able to identify and remove barriers to participation in employment, and have experience of working in an evidenced and outcomes-focused environment, meeting targets, and working to Key Performance Indicators. The ability to work independently under pressure and deal with potentially distressing situations is essential. This role requires an enhanced DBS check.
