AALFY has produced a case study video to promote its Laser Friday initiative, which allows potential programme participants to visit 108 The Moor to learn how to use design technologies and improve their creative skills.
The S1-based provider has used this series of open days to engage with unemployed and economically inactive people who have gone on to join its Working Sheffield and Learn Create Sell programmes.

About Learn Create Sell
Learn, Create, Sell (LCS) uses the power of lasers to develop beautiful and innovative products; our methodology is based on lean manufacturing & rapid prototyping. As the name suggest there’s three core elements to the programme followed by individual progression pathways:
Learn: Focusing on skills development, the learning element of the programme introduces the participants to elements of design, laser cutting, business planning and networking.
Create: During this stage participants are supported by numerous partner organisations and entrepreneurs to develop a commercial product and package it.
Sell: The pop-up shop is launched for 2 weeks, the participants are responsible for managing the shop. All revenue earned is given back to the participants to further develop their products or develop more products.
In response to a rapidly evolving landscape of work, AALFY delivers learning experiences for young people and adults to become enterprising, resilient, adaptable and agile individuals. We want to develop each individual’s agency so that they can improve decision making and overcome obstacles. Ultimately becoming a well-rounded individual who feels independent with a sense of purpose and role in the wider community.
