Job vacancies: Employment Coach & Employment Support Coordinator (Element Society)

Element Society is seeking an Employment Coach and an Employment Support Coordinator to join its Employment & Skills Team.

Employment Coach

Salary: £21,000 – £24,000 (fte/pro-rata for part-time employees) per annum dependent on experience

Benefits: 28 days leave per year (includes bank holidays), 4% paid pension contribution, fully funded Westfield Health Scheme membership

Contract: Part-time, 17.5 hours per week

Flexible Hours: To be worked Monday to Friday, between 9am-5pm (exact days and times set by mutual agreement)

Desirable: Full Driving License and access to a vehicle

Essential: Minimum of one year experience working in the employment and skills sector 

As a member of the Element Society Employment & Skills team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting young people to access employment and training opportunities. Your work will involve supporting a caseload of young people between the ages of 18 and 24 to develop skills, overcome barriers and create opportunities for them to progress.

You will work closely with the Employment Support Coordinator to ensure you are on target in achieving your key performance indicators in line with contractual targets. You will primarily work from within the city centre offices and travel for both client and stakeholder engagement meetings. As one of the Employment Coaches, your client caseload work will involve developing individual action plans, identifying barriers, providing support in overcoming these barriers and engaging with local resources and networks to provide the necessary support.

Your work will involve delivering a range of interventions to support young people’s progression in:

  • Identifying and addressing barriers to success
  • Creation of realistic action plans along with regular reviews
  • Delivery of key employability skills interventions, e.g., support in CV creation, interview skills, job search techniques, and support towards training or paid employment
  • Increasing confidence and communication skills
  • Supporting young people in sourcing and applying for suitable training and employment opportunities.

Employment Support Coordinator

Salary: £25,000 – £28,000 (fte/pro-rata for part-time employees) per annum dependent on experience

As a member of the Element Society Employment & Skills team, you will play a pivotal role in managing a small group of Employment Coaches in supporting young people between the ages of 18 and 24 to develop skills, overcome barriers and create opportunities for them to progress.

You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure your team are on target with their key performance indicators and the project remains within budget. You will work from within the city centre head office and travel for both client and stakeholder engagement meetings. 

As the Employment Support Coordinator, you will have a small client caseload yourself and support your team to manage their own. Client caseload work will involve developing individual action plans, identifying barriers, providing support in overcoming these barriers and engaging with local resources and networks to provide the necessary support.

Your work will involve delivering a range of interventions to support young people’s progression in:

  • Identifying and addressing barriers to success
  • Creation of realistic action plans along with regular reviews
  • Direct line management for a small team of Employment Coaches
  • Delivery of key employability skills interventions, e.g., support in CV creation, interview skills, job search techniques, and support towards training or paid employment
  • Increasing confidence and communication skills
  • Supporting young people in sourcing and applying for suitable training and employment opportunities.
