Levelling Up Futures in Sheffield and The Source are hosting a three-day employment and skills event at Meadowhall for students (13-18 year olds) and young people looking for work (18–24-year-olds).
Some 45 employers have signed up for the event, including including some Meadowhall, NHS, Aviva, Gulliver’s, Apple, Google, City Fibres, and the Civil Service.

Audience and content for each day
A brief overview of each day is below.
21 June and 22 of June – Targeted at 17 to 18 year old students – (as well as local young people 18-24) and will have a focus on moving into work/apprenticeships and employability skills. Please note 09.30 to 11.00 on 21 June will be a quiet period ringfenced for SEND schools and young people with additional support needs.
23 of June. Targeted at 13- to 16-year-old students and will focus more on employment engagement to enhance knowledge of the labour market, post 16 further education and apprenticeships/traineeship options and soft skills sessions. Please note 09.30 to 11.00 will be a quiet period, ringfenced for SEND schools and young people with additional support needs.
There will be a variety of ways young people can engage with employers including:
- Up to 60 different employers from a range of sectors each day, many with live vacancies
- Employment, training, and Apprenticeship providers
- Further Education providers
- CV drop ins and mock interviews
- Soft skills workshops
- Tailored support for young people with additional needs
Where is the event?
The Source Skills Academy is located on the inner Meadowhall ring road – 300 Meadowhall Way, Sheffield S9 1EA. There is plenty of parking either on site or at Meadowhall.
