BITC’s ClickSilver programme now open for applicants

The ClickSilver programme with BITC (Business in the Community) is now open for applicants aged 50 and over. The programme has helped older UK residents use technology to gain confidence and improve their digital skills. The programme matches vulnerable and older people with volunteer mentors from businesses, who support them to develop digital skills and confidence online. This sharing of skills and knowledge helps to increase beneficiaries’ independence and reduce feelings of loneliness while bridging the digital divide between younger and older.

ClickSilver offers 4 sessions lasting 30-60 minutes with experienced business volunteers (DBS checked and trained), all free of charge. If terms and conditions are met, they may even have tablets to donate to the most isolated beneficiaries to use during the sessions and keep after programme completion (internet included, for up to 6 months).

After supporting thousands of individuals since 2012, the BITC team is looking at reaching even more people in 2023 and they need referrals to do so. If you work with people who are digitally excluded, are isolated, lonely and who need support to use their tablets, PCs, smartphones, get in touch today at clicksilver@bitc.org.uk and the team will walk you through the simple referral process.
