Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) is a unique approach for local parents, led by local parents. Zest is recruiting parents city-wide with energy and vision to come and volunteer alongside our EPEC volunteer coordinator and Sheffield City Council Parenting Team.
EPEC groups are highly interactive, involving an engaging and creative blend of small and large discussion, demonstrations, information sharing and reflection. They involved real life examples, parents practice and how to use new skills in everyday life to achieve specific goals.
As a Volunteer EPEC parent group leader, you will:
- Receive amazing free training and support from our local EPEC team. Learn to lead practical, caring groups for local parents
- share tried and tested methods that give children the best start in life. Join a group of like-minded parents to make a difference to your local community
- develop your skills and confidence
- gain experience that will help you to fulfil your ambitions.
Training Starts: Wednesday 16 September 2026
Hours: 9:30am – 2pm (Term-time only)
Venue: ZEST Sports Hall, Shipton Street, S6 3NA

Due to the nature of the role an enhanced DBS is required. Two references will also be necessary to support your application.
