What’s been happening?

Winter Craft Events

Craft Events

We held some winter craft events in various libraries before Christmas. We wanted to reintroduce our service in the community after almost two years of a pandemic.

We engaged families and adults through fun craft activities such as wreath making and bauble decorating, whilst also providing valuable information, advice and guidance. We have had people interested in many of our adult learning courses such as Functional Skills Maths and English, ESOL, Digital Skills and Childcare.

Central library

Central Library Drop Ins

We are now hosting information, advice and guidance sessions in the Central Library foyer on the second Tuesday of every month between 10am and 12pm. Officers will be able to give information, advice and guidance around the FACES services and provision.

You can ask about progression from community courses onto Further Education, Higher Education, Apprenticeships, and Sector Routeways programmes (courses followed by work placements which can lead into employment in Digital Coding, Care, Construction, and Engineering and Manufacturing). Come and see us between 10am and 12pm on: 8th March 12th April 10th May 14th June 12th July

Courses in Darnall

We are now delivering some of our courses at Darnall Library and the SUBUD centre including Family Learning and Childcare. These courses will continue as we enter term 3. Courses on offer: Sew me a Story at Darnall Library on 22nd February – 29th March 2022, 12:30 – 2:30pm Level 1 Award in Caring for Children at SUBUD on 20th April – 19th July 9:30 – 12:30pm Level 1 Health & Social Care at SUBUD on 20th April – 19th July 12:30 – 2:30pm.
