In Sheffield’s Lifelong Learning Service, we value the work of our team, working in the community to develop others.  The role is highly rewarding and will be satisfying for an adult educator.  Sheffield is a great place to work, it is diverse with a range of cultural, and social connections in our communities.  As a team we have:

·       A supportive learning team that champions the work they do with equity and inclusion.

·       Supportive leaders and managers who are committed to a professional workforce.

·       Reflective supervision and access to peer learning groups.

·       Innovative approaches and practice to support the best outcomes.

You will have a subject specialism at level 3 in an Employment/Vocational area, and a high level of understanding and ability in digital skills.  You will have a teaching qualification (Award in Education or equivalent) and be willing to work towards higher level qualifications.  Assessor Qualification and Internal Quality Assurance Qualification would be desirable, or you should be willing to work towards within the first year.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher/tutor to teach or facilitate accredited and non-accredited students in a variety of centre and community-based settings. You will need the ability to manage relationships with internal and external delivery stakeholders at all levels through effective communication. Evidence of understanding the requirements of Ofsted and delivery in the FE / CL sector essential.

We are investing in our workforce and are promoting opportunities to our under-represented groups.  We value equality, diversity and inclusion and are focused on increasing the diversity of our workforce, particularly the number of Black, Asian, Minority Ethnic, Disabled and LGBTQ+ people, so that our teams reflect the communities in the city we serve. We are also supporting staff with unpaid caring responsibilities to work flexibly.

It is a great time to join us and we welcome your application.

Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants, who meet the essential criteria of this job, are guaranteed an interview.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check.
