‘Apprenticeships: Be Inspired’ fair returns on Weds 13 March 2019

Sheffield City Council is inviting employers to attend ‘Apprenticeships: Be Inspired 2019’ – a unique event which allows organisations to meet school leavers who are potentially interesting in pursuing the apprenticeship career route.

The fair – run by Opportunity Sheffield, the Council’s employment and skills service – has run since 2014, helping many young people find apprenticeships over the last five years.  The 2109 edition will be staged at Cutler’s Hall, Sheffield, on Wednesday 13th March between 12:30 and 4:30pm.

Last year, ‘Apprenticeships: Be Inspired’  was attended by over 700 school students from across the Sheffield City Region, more than 150 of whom secured a training role as a direct result of discussions with employers on the day.

‘Apprenticeships: Be Inspired’ continues to go from strength to strength. The event offers a fantastic opportunity to meet high-quality school and Sixth Form students before they select their Post 16 or Post 18 pathway.

The event is free to attend for employers but spaces are limited and will be booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

Testimonials

Anita Lloyd, from studio space provider Yorkshire Artspace, said:

“The event was an excellent opportunity to meet potential apprentices in person. We were very impressed with the young people we met at the event and the chance to talk to them allowed us to get a real feel for their energy and personality.”

Cherry Lim, Operations Manager at technology consultancy 3Squared, said:

“The 2018 ‘Apprenticeships: Be Inspired’ fair allowed us to meet the coders, testers and systems administrators of the future and advertise both our Post 16 and Post 18 (graduate apprenticeship) opportunities. The fair was well run, well attended and a great success. We look forward to attending again in 2019.”
