Opportunity Sheffield to launch 11-week Digital Futures programme in Nov; work experience included

Sheffield City Council’s employment and skills service Opportunity Sheffield is pleased to announce the launch of “Digital Futures”.  This 11 week programme commencing at the start of November is designed by digital companies within Sheffield to act as a springboard towards increasing the numbers of people entering digital employment within the City.

The 11 week Programme encompasses 100 hours in-work placement with various leading digital firms across our region. You will learn basics around  coding/programming, HTML, Python, Java, CSS and be linked into some outstanding employment opportunities as a catalyst towards an exciting career in digital. Both software developer apprenticeships and stand-alone-jobs will be available at the end of this scheme.

This really is a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to get started on a pathway to a digital career. These ‘boot-camps’ are valued commercially at £7000+ but through this Programme places come at no cost – other than your time, commitment, and enthusiasm to learn…..

Places are open to all participants aged 19+ who are in a position to make themselves available for the full 11 weeks of the Programme.

No experience is required other than a genuine interest to progress in software development / digital careers.

Attached is the schedule of learning for the programme. Anyone interested in learning more about the scheme should apply via the link below, clearly indicating  they want to be part of the ‘DIGITAL FUTURES’ Programme.
