The Prince’s Trust ‘Get Started in Health & Social Care’ course with interviews for jobs

The Prince’s Trust is seeking referrals for a virtual Get Started in Health and Social Care programme, which will run between 15 and 18 September.

The course is open to 18-30-year-olds who are not in employment, education or training. Participants who complete the course will be interviewed for a job with a local employer on the final day.

Course information

The course will be held online using the Microsoft Teams web conferencing platform.

Day 1: Introduction/Confidence and Resilience/Skills for Health and Care

Day 2: CV building and Interview Practice with a focus on Health and Care roles/Mock Interviews

Day 3: Optional sessions and 1:1 focused support.

Day 4:   Interviews with local employers for active vacancies in Health and Social care.

We’re looking for

The ideal young person will have a passion for working in or very keen to transition into the Health and Care sector. They should be work ready or if facing barriers to being work ready, these barriers should be actionable within a short time frame of 1 month or less, if not they may be more suitable for the HSC mentoring programme or Live Learn and Earn sessions (details of this are in the attachment ‘Prince’s Trust Outreach information’).

Other key info:

  • Work ready young people – this is essential.
  • Willingness to travel to their employment- jobs will be available in and around Sheffield.
  • Willingness to work in care based roles
