Sheffield City Council has been shortlisted as a national finalist at the 2021 FE Week and AELP AAC Apprenticeship Awards.
The Council is in the running for the SEND Apprenticeship Champion Award, in recognition of policies and processes in place to support people with special educational needs and disabilities into apprenticeships.
The Council’s submission to the panel detailed its HR policies, targeted recruitment (including use of traineeship programmes) and post-enrolment support mechanisms to help level the playing field for candidates with a disadvantage in the labour market.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place at a Gala Dinner on Thursday 8 July 2021 at the ICC, Birmingham.
