Bags of Taste’s Mentored Home Cooking course looking for participants to start end of April

Bags of Taste is recruiting for it’s Mentored Home Cooking course. The course is due to begin at the end of April (exact dates tbc) and there are 30 spaces available for interested participants.

This course seeks to help individuals who may be struggling with cost of living pressures, and equip them with skills they need to make nutritious recipes on a budget.

This is not a course that has a qualification attached, however it may provide a form of wraparound support for some individuals that many of the voluntary community sector are working with.

How it works

Learn how to make delicious, healthy meals for less than £1.

A free bag of ingredients, some equipment and a local shopping guide is delivered to participants and a mentor is assigned to offer support over a two week period.

Designed to be done at home at your own pace, this interactive course is done via Whatsapp or over the phone. The groups are fun and it’s also a great way to make new friends. You will receive tips and advice on how to budget and save money when you’re shopping.

At the end of the course, you’ll receive your graduation pack containing more exciting but wallet-friendly recipes which build on the ones you have, so you’ll be able to continue saving money while cooking, sharing and enjoying great food with your family and friends.

You’ll also be invited to join a friendly online community and get access to some amazing recipes from all over the world. There are also videos and tons of ideas, tips and food inspiration as well as all the support you need to continue on your cooking journey!
